HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Age: 52 in September
What we are doing as the 2006 year begins
Chester is co owner of C.C.& R Construction. Chester has just found out that he has Vocal cord, larynx Cancer, Squamous Cell Carcinoma

I am the secretary of C.C.& R Construction.

Tiffani working at Sommers Insurance at Lindsay, OK and also works part-time for C.C.& R Construction..
Kevin working at TnT forklift at Lindsay, OK
Conner is going to Talawna's the baby Sitters home when mom is at work.
On Fridays he stays with ME his Gma.
Tracy is a RN working at Lindsay -hospital.
Destry was layed off December 30th, 2005 from Rodney's welding at Lindsay, OK so at the end of the year he was unemployed but he joined us at C.C.& R. on the first day of the year .
Dalton is living with his Mom living and going to school in Calvin, OK
Brooklynn is living with her Mom, going to school in Lindsay, OK

Those that were at Pa's Place with us for New Years breakfast was, my sister Carol, Tiffani and her family and Tracy, Destry and Dalton.. After a wonderful breakfast of sausage and egg burrito's cooked mostly by Tracy and Tiffani we got around and went riding at the lakes shoreline.. Carol rode behind me most of the ride but then Tiffani talked Carol into riding her 4-wheeler and Tiffani rode behind me until we got into the heavy brush at the end of the trail. Once back we had a quick meal of Black-eyed peas, cornbread, hotlinks and fried potatoes... Not a great meal for Chester's or any of our artery's but it is a tradition. Tiffani, Kevin, Conner and Gizmo left for home first around 2pm.. Norma and Leo rode their bike down for a visit getting there about the time Tracy and her family and Carol were leaving which was around 4:30.
After a great visit with Leo and Norma, Chester watched a new movie Tiffani had purchased to have a Pa's Place and I actually did a couple of pages in the scrapbooks before we both called it a night..

We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures.
Thornton Wilder

Chester and I were stubbling around missing the kids this morning at Pa's Place.. It is so quite there without them.. relaxful but quite..
Chester tried to get the hot tub going that quit when Dalton tried to get it going Saturday night. Seems he might have spashed a little to much water out and it made something blow.. Oh well the thing gives us as much missery as it does pleasure.
Jim and Carolyn came over to get the key.. They are going to use the lake house for the rest of the week while they have their bedroom floors done.. It will be the first time that someone other than Chester and I or the girls and their families have used the house.. If we go down and they are still there it will be different.. but I have enough on my plate without wondering about sleeping arangements .. giggle

Last night I set a new page to house my 2006 Pretties.. I scatter these pretties that I adopt or that are gifts to me through out my nest but this year I wanted to give them a more permanate home
Waiting for the phone to ring on news about Chester's biospy from either OU MEDICAL CENTER or the Otolaryngologist that did the biospy Christopher Paskowski .. I am having a hard time staying focused on doing anything but I am trying.
Today Is Kevin's and Dalton's Day. Kevin's 31st and Dalton's 12th .. Dalton was at his Mom's so we didn't get to see him but we hope to celebrate his, Kevin's and Tiffani's birthday this coming week-end.
Chester and I did meet Tiffani, Kevin and Conner in town for supper where we gave Kevin his Birthday money. Since we were didn't work Monday Tiffani needed to get the payroll and month end taxes done so they came out after supper.. When we got home David and Robin had rode their 4-wheelers out for a visit.. The night was so calm it was a perfect night to be out riding.
NOTES: Tiffani got her camera in today... It is a Canon PowerShot 7.1-Megapixel Digital Camera Model: A620. The few pictures she took we believe it is going to be perfect for what they wanted. Also they are still visiting with the land owners about the purchase of the land. One of the party sellers is holding out for a higher price I think they hope to hear back on the counter bid sometime this week.

but of respect and joy in each other's life.

Wild fires are still the topic in Oklahoma. The Fires are still popping up all over the state, due to the extremely dry conditions and high winds. Today the winds aren't suppose to be as high so maybe our firemen and volunteer firemen will get some much needed rest.. They are worn out working sometimes day and night.. Especially when a large brush fire is going.. Not a drop of rain in the future forecast.
This morning I am working the best that I can.. I am on pins and needles waiting for the phone to ring about the biopsy results. We want to extend our deepest appreciation to all of you for your prayers, thoughts. We don't know how we would manage without our faith and each of your acts of support

Famous quotes
Difficult times have helped me to understand better than before, how infinitely rich and beautiful life is in every way,
and that so many things that one goes worrying about are of no importance whatsoever...
Isak Dinesen

Please keep Chester in your prayers..

4 pm UPDATE: Chester now has a appointment with a OU MEDICAL CENTER doctor. Chesters has been refered to Otolaryngologist Greg A. Krempl, M.D.*

We are now waiting for a call from Norman Regional's Cancer Management Center to get a appointment for Chester to see a Radiation doctor

OK I got to get my head on straight and get busy.. WORK.. it has to be done..
Good news... Tiffani and Kevin are going to sign to purchase 40 acres today... I am so proud of them... Now I need to go look at it to see where they will be raising my Grandson.. giggle... thankfully it is going to be even closer to us not farther away and it will get them off the main highway. It doesn't have any structures so their next thing after purchase will be ~ Heck if I know. ~ I guess making sure the fencing is OK.. LOL

This week's Photo Friday Challengei s Panorama'. an unobstructed view extending in all directions, especially of a landscape I don't think I will be joining in on this one due to room to store this on my site.
My day to get to have Connner here with me today.. He played and played until he couldn't anymore than he collasped in my arms for a 2 1/2 hour nap.
Chester came home a little early to play with Conner before his Mom came after him. After Tiff and Conner went home we whipped us up a simple supper and I played here in My Okie Nest (setting a new winter set from TEA) and Chester watched tv.

Saturday January 07, 2006
We decided not to go to Pa's Place (Our Lake house at Murray State lake) . Tiffani and I did the company's W2's and 1099's... That took all morning but they are done.
During this time Chester and Conner took many walks around the yard and about a dozen trips with Papa pulling Conner in his red wagon. We had just finished up when Chester's Dad came out for a short visit and Kevin stopped by for a sandwich and to let Conner sit/stand in his work truck on his way back to his company yard to finish his day..

My Dad and Jonnie Ann even came by to borrow the 16' trailer to go to Noble to pickup a new golf cart that he had purchased.
Everyone went their own ways around 2 so Chester and I took a quick nap to prepare for the upcoming night events.. We are going to a Japanese restaurant in Norman with all the kids and then we are planing on bowling a game afterwards.. this is to celebrate Kevin, Dalton and Tiffani's Birthday.

X---XX---X---XX---X

Sunday January 08, 2006
To celebrate Kevin, Dalton and Tiffani's Birthday the 9 of us had a family outing.. We had a great time and meal at the Japanese restaurant last night.. Tiffani had her camera with her but I haven't gotten a copy of the pictures that were taken but when I do I will share the group shot here. After we ate we went to Norman's Sooner Bowling alley.. The kids played some games while we waited on two lanes next to eachother to open.. Dalton and Brooklynn bowled 2 games to the adults bowling one... bowling winner was
Kevin 126
Chester 123
Tracy 120
Tiffani and Destry (I can't remember thier score)
Me 86 I think.. giggle I was doing good not to fall down the lane.
This morning Chester went to town to get the Sunday paper and surprised me with a breakfast burrito.. He does some of the sweetiest things .. he is not a big romantic but in the little things he does he is.
Tiff called around 9am wanting us to come to their house for breakfast, of course we didn't but Tracy and her family did. It just warms my heart when those Sister and thier families do things together with or without us. After they had breakfast the Nunn's went to the Nunley's where Conner got to see the cow The Nunley's gave him for his first birthday.. Until the Nunn's get a place for it the Nunley's will have continue pasturing it.. Cunfused yet? Tiff Married a NUNN and Tracy married a NUNLEY..giggle.
Around 11 Tiff and family brought our SUV home as they drove it home since Conner was asleep when we got home.. He was asleep when they arrived so he and his Mom laid down on our bed, Chester on the Sofa, Kevin on the love seat and they all took a nap.. While they slept I did some watering again because I am aftaid that as dry as it is we might risk loseing the srubs and trees we planted in the fall in our yard. The wild fires have burnt many many acres and some way to close to our home.
When the kids woke and went back to their homes Chester and I ssemed to be just worn out so we both laid down for a nap..
When we woke boy was we hungry so Chester went after us a pizza.. He had no sooner left when Herb and Sherri came over .. He was back home shortly and we had a nice visit with them.
I am reading The Regime, Before They Were Left Behind Series that Chester bought me for Christmas.. I am almost finished with it.. I sure have enjoyed it.
Please continue remembering Chester up in your prayers.. His first appointment is tomorrow at 9am.
Grace, peace and God's blessings to each reader of my Okie Journal!

Monday January 09, 2006
Happy 31st birthday to my eldest daughter TIFFANI.
Our day started out at 4am with Chester and I unable to sleep. We showered and got ready to pick up Tracy to go to Chester's 9am appointment in Oklahoma City. Chester dropped me off at Tiffani's so I could give her some Birthday money from us and so I could play with Conner while he went on to get Tracy..
We left Tiffani's home around 7:30, plenty of time to make it to the appointment even with the heavy morning work traffic and with the construction it was heavy.
It was a Confusing doctor appointment.. We thought we would find out what treatment this doctor would want to do but we didn't find out anything for sure.. It seems that what the first ENT doctor saw on the CAT Scan and Chest x-ray as Emphysema on Chester's left lung, this ENT Cancer doctor is wanting to make sure that it isn't cancer.... long story short this doctor told Chester he couldn't start any treatment program until he had a chest CAT scan, new blood work and a dental release.. and he wants it all done by Thursday so Chester can attend a Tumor board... The nurse came in and said she would be making the CAT Scan and blood work appointment and would call us with the day and time...
That meant we needed to get Chester in to see his dentist...
PRAISE THE LORD! When I called to get Chester a dentist appointment someone had just canceled theirs and they got Chester in this afternoon at 2:50. After one pulled and one filled he now has a clean bill of health on his teeth and gums.
After a couple of calls we did find out that the appointments were made for the next steps of Chester's recovery.
Wednesday at 4pm Chester has lab work and a Chest CAT Scan focusing on his lungs.
Thursday with the OU medical Center Tumor Board where the doctors will poke him over, then kick around the options of his upcoming treatment.. We have no idea if he will find out what they decide that day or when. Thanks again to everyone that is viewing this for your prayers..

On a lighter note: Conner had his first haircut tonight... He wasn't really sure if he liked what she was doing to him or not but a sucker helped him make it through it.. giggle.

I received this from Tea today.. She is one SPECIAL lady that I can not begin to explain what she means to me in my life.. Friends are family we chose.

There's a miracle called Friendship
That dwells within the heart,
And you don't know how it happens
Or when it gets its start.
But the happiness it brings you
Always gives a special lift,
And you realize that friendship
Is God's precious gift.

Lab work and CAT Scan today at OU Medical center.
we left early enough this morning going to the appointment to do our Wal-mart shopping plus we stopped first to visit the Maysville library and was very impressed with Sami (The Librarian) helping me find a book to read while I am waiting on Chester during his appointments.. Thanks for your help Sami.
I discussed with Sami about me having some V. C. Andrews paperback books and would like to donatie to them to the Maysville libary if they don't have a copy already and want them.( They do have many V. C. Andrews paperback on hand already)
This is a list of the ones that I have found so far. I may have more but these are the ones that I have stored in a group..
If they want any or all I will drop them off the next time I am in town.

Thursday January 12, 2006
Today Chester has the appointment with the OU medical Center Tumor Board at 4pm.
At the appointment today, we hope, we will know what treatment plan they recommend.. but if the lung CAT scan shows something we expect they will be wanting to do a biospy there first. The waiting has our stomach's torn up... FAITH that is what we are leaning on to get us through this and the many friends and family that have giving us their support and prayers.
Chester does have a appointment with a radiolgist tomorrow at Norman but we aren't sure if he should keep it or not as he will also be seeing a radiolgist today ..
UPDATE: The CAT scan that was done yesterday (Jan 11) on Chester's chest was looked at by one of the lung specialist at OU Medical center and 8 other cancer related doctors.. The scan was inconclusive to whether it is cancer in the lung or Emphysema. They will be watching it and also the fluid that they think comes from having Emphysema. The Specialist isn't going to do a biopsy on Chester's lung in fear that it might collapse. While studying this CAT scan they noticed a spot on his pancreas that they are concerned about.. So that scan will be sent to one of pancreas doctors for him to look at.. The PET Scan that was done Dec. 30, 2005 did NOT show any hot spots in the pancreas but since they noticed it they will proceed with having one of their specialist look at it..
They have decided treatment for his vocal cords will be low dose of chemotherapy with radiation, doing this while keeping a eye on the spot on his lung and pancreas. Of course this could all change if the pancreas doctor needs more test to see if there is something the PET scan didn't.. Another wait, pray and see.. smile
The treatments probably will not begin until a week from this coming Monday... They start on Mondays so they can do five treatments in a row.. ..I would have thought even one treatment would be better than none but I guess they have their reasoning.. Gosh we are learning a lot more than we wish...
They said to prepare for treatment to be 5 days a week (mon - Fri) for 6 to 8 weeks.
Tomorrow Chester has a appointment at 2pm for beginning set up of radiation with Radiation Oncology, Dr. Carl R. Bogardus Jr. M.D. Professor and clinical Director at OU medical center... We are going to cancel the one in Norman and keep all the appointments in one area.

We will continue Praising the Lord for the miracles that he is giving us and praying for many more to come

What Cancer Cannot Do

Cancer is so limited...
It cannot cripple love.
It cannot shatter hope.
It cannot corrode faith.
It cannot eat away peace.
It cannot destroy confidence.
It cannot kill friendship.
It cannot shut out memories.
It cannot silence courage.
It cannot reduce eternal life.
It cannot quench the Spirit.

Our day started out exciting.. a little before 7am Tiffani called and asked me to meet her and Conner in town for breakfast... Gizmo had gotten sprayed by a skunk around 5:30 and Kevin bathe him but they are having to leave him in the sun room because of the smell. Chester joined us for breakfast and he gave Conner the leap pad Fridge Farm Magnetic Animal Set we bought for him at Wal-mart Wednesday. After we finished eating Tiff took Conner to Talana's, Chester and I went to the GasnGo for fuel and so that I could visit with Gladys... After that Chester went back to work and I went to wal-mart and then to the beauty shop where I wish I could say I got a hair-cut that I loved but honestly the girl made a mess out of it.. LOL... Really it is a young hair style that I would love on the girls but I am not crazy about it on me ...
After my hair cut I stopped at the dollar store and bought some scrapbooking things they had gotten in since the first of the year and then HOME... just in time for Chester and Tracy to pick me up to go to the city for Chester's appointment.
Chester, Tracy and I was very please with the visit (a hour and a half consultaion) with Dr. Carl and his associate, Kacie. Kacie and Dr Carl explained what we might need to expect in the following 6-8 weeks of chemo-radiotherapy and answered the many questions we had.
They did make his radiation mask that will be used to position his neck in the same postion during his 6-8 weeks of chemo-radiotherapy. Chester said that he had to lay down and stretch his neck in a arch position while they made the mask and that is how he will be laying during treatment.. Not a comfortable postition at all.. His right shoulder blade was all tensed up by the time they finished with the mask which was feeling better by the time we got home.
They did make his radiation mask that will be used to position his neck in the same postion during his 6-8 weeks of chemo-radiotherapy. Kacie is going to working to get the chemotherapy appointment made with hopes that Chester can get in to see them by the end of next week to prepare for beginning the chemo-radiotherapy Monday January 23.. She told us to call her Tuesday afternoon if we hadn't heard from her prior to that..
With the appointment lasting till 4pm we decided to stop by Jo's Pizza to bring home supper.. Tiffani, Conner, Kevin and Destry joined us at our house. Chester gave Conner his play golf club and bag set and they played hit the ball while the girls and I got Tea made and the table set.. Shortly after we ate the girls went to their homes and I am catching up on the daily events here.. I am tired, Chester is tired so we are turing in fairly soon.. but we hope in the morning to be packing up to go to the lake house for the week-end.. The girls aren't going to join us as they have things they need to get done and both their husbands are on call this week-end.
NUNN NOTE: Another great day for Tiffani and Kevin.. They signed on the purchase of the almost 40 acres of land.. They are so excited as we are for them... Congrats Kids we are proud of you and for you.
I ask that you pray that God will use His wonderful healing powers over my husband Chester. We both know with prayer anything is possible so Please continue Praying and Praiseing the Lord for his many blessing

Saturday January 14, 2006
We had breakfast with David and Robin at Joyce's in Maysville, making it to Pa's Place around noon.. Chester and I unpacked and settled in to a nap.. Around 6:30 we meet Jim and Carolyn at Fireside to eat supper.. We had a nice visit there and they came ovcr to the house untill around 11pm.. The four of us seldom get together but when we do the time is usually enjoyed.
NUNLEY NOTE: Tracy and Destry purchased a new dinning room table, chairs, china hutch and 2 bar stools today.. They also purchased wood to do the walls in the laundry room and kitchen and paint to do those ceilings and dinningroom plus dinningroom walls.

X---XX---X---XX---X

Sunday January 15, 2006
We left the lake house for the week-end around 4pm stopped by Tracy's to take them some lumber they were needing for their kitchen make-over that we picked up at Lowells for them. The Nunn's were there looking at what Tracy and Destry had accomplished on their kitchen.. and it really does look good, Dalton and Brooklynn will be so surprised when they come next week-end. Not only a new look but their kitchen furniture will be delivered Tuesday.. They will enjoy having a meal at the new table with chairs. smile.
Before we left Destry loaned Conner Dalton's toddler bed so we loaded it in Chester's pickup to take to Conner.. When we got it unloaded at Tiff's and was fixing to leave we asked if Conner could spend the night with us.. and to our surprise Mom let him.... When we got home Conner just warmed our heart as he is such a joy to us both.. It was nice getting to play with him together. He finally tired out around 9. He curled up in my arms and just fell asleep..

X---XX---X---XX---X

Monday January 16, 2006
Conner stayed the night with us last night at our request. He was so sweet all day.. we played until we couldn't play anymore..then we took a two hour nap and played until Mom came to pick him up. When Tiffani got here her car tire was smoking.. She called the tire company where she had just picked it up from and they will be out in the morning to take it back to town to fix. She is going to drive my Surb home... Tomorrow I don't plan on going anywhere so this isn't a problem.
I had prepared a meatloaf so Tiffani and Conner joined us before they went home for supper.. taking Kevin a plate as he was again working late.
I received a very cute Valentine gift from Kat.. It is hard to believe that Valentine day is just around the corner but it is.. and I do love celebrating the day of love.. Thanks Kat for sharing her with me.. You can see her on my Valentine gift page.

Tuesday January 17, 2006
Thanks Liz for sharing your Valentine with me.. It is soooo cute.. It's permanate home in my nest is at my Valentine gift page.

Work was just all that I got done today and I didn't get the accounts payable done so I will have to really get after it tomorrow.
CONNER NOTE: Kevin picked Conner up at the babysitters, she had called Tiffani that he was running a fever.. Once home Conner seemed to be doing better.. I couldn't go after him as when Tiffani came out last night she was having trouble with her car tire which she had just gotten out of the shop so she drove my SUB home. So I was a foot... Tiffani said she would call in the morning to let me know how Conner is feeling and if I will be keeping him.

X---XX---X---XX---X

Wednesday January 18, 2006
Conner didn't have fever but Tiffani was afraid it might during the night so she went ahead and brought him over here for the day.
Chester is still praying and waiting ... Chester has appointments with Chemo and Radiation departments this coming Monday to hear their latest plans for him we are hoping the treatments will start Tuesday... but who knows. .. Keep those prayers going for him please...

I opened a Flappr site..
" Okie's Flapper Site" I do hope some will join me there.. to mark their spot on my map..
The things I stick my nose into when I don't have time as it is to do updates here in my journal.. smile... I do hope some will join me there.. to mark their spot on my map..

I picked up a couple of things from Wynne's

I am confused with my frappr account... I seem to have two maps.. One that is okie and one that is FriendsofOkiesNest ... Crap what have I done... lol
Kevin's dog Sable is down again.. her hips are completly giving out on her. They were trying to get ahold of the vet to see what can be done. Poor girl has just had the hardest time the last couple of weeks. They are telling the kids that surjery could be done but the cost would be about 3 thousand with no guaratee that it will help in the long run. They have already spent over $500.00 last week alone on vet bills.. so I have no idea what they will chose to do...
TRACY UPDATE: She didn't get off work until after 10pm.. plus she is getting a cold.

Friday January 20, 2006
Friday... Where did Mon -Thurs go? Seems like time is passing by without me soaking it in.
Chester has appointments with Chemo and Radiation departments Monday to hear their latest plans for him. We are hoping the treatments will start Tuesday and from the phone calls I believe he will start Chemo first for a couple of weeks before the radiation ... but things seem to be still up in the air so who knows... Please offer a prayer for him ...
UPDATE :
Tiffani and Conner joined Chester and I at Pa'a place this week-end. We went down after Tiffani got off work Friday. We picked Conner up at the baby-sitter stopping at MickeyD's then our house to pick up Tiffani so that our surb would be left there. (I had taken Kevin his pick-up to thier house earlier yesterday)
We picked up at brisket dinner from Braums on the way down last night for supper so that we could get settled in before bedtime.. It wasn't bad but a fresh one would have been so much better but we didn't want to cook..
Tracy wasn't feeling good so they aren't coming down and Kevin has to work today so Tiff didn't want to turn up the heat in her part of the house so she slept in Tracy's water bed and Conner slept with Chester and I.. It is so sweet when he cuddles up to us in his sleep.

This morning Chester went to Lowell's to get a new saw that would help with the project for the week-end, Conner Tiffani and I played around the house enjoying eachothers company while he was gone. When Chester got back he and TIffani got the top layer of bathroom floor pulled up (damage done from a leak during the freeze) Now we are going to let the bottom layer dry real good until Chester has a chance to put a new layer of plywood down to replace the particle board that was ripped out.. why the people before us but particle board down for a bathroom floor is beyond us.. Oh well gives us a challenge down there.. smile
We all took a long (3hour) nap then we all showered and dressed to go to Kingston to eat fish at BG's... Yum Yum.. I teased Chester that we really go over there so he can eat their homemade ice cream.. he had a full plate tonight.. Not high on his heart diet..but what the hay.. he deserve a break in his diet ever now and then.
When we got back to Pa's Place Tiffani and Conner got in the hot tub.. He just loved it.. after Conner had been in about 20mins I took him in for his bath while Mom could relax and enjoy the jets.
Miss Oklahoma Jennifer Berry of Tulsa, Oklahoma, is a student at the University of Oklahoma, was crowned Miss America 2006 tonight at The Aladdin Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. Way to go Miss Oklahoma.

Sunday January 22, 2006
Conner was up at 6:30 this morning.. Why I thought he would sleep in is beyond me.. giggle
Tiffani cooked us breakfast of bacon, eggs, biscuits and gravy.. what a great way to begin the morning.. good food and surrounded by the ones you love minus a few but they were with us in our heart..plus it was RAINING..
We had a great time at Pa's Place with Conner and Tiffani..
We came home some earlier than we thought since Kevin picked up the things they need from wal-mart, plus supper ingredients so Tiffani and I couldn't come up with a good enough reason to stop on our way home except that we hadn't seen Tracy's new dinning room furniture so we stopped there for a short visit before we Tiffani and Conner home. Tracy's furniture is beautiful and looks great in the new red room... They still like doing a little work on some of the walls of the kitchen but the dinning room is mostly done.
Kevin thought we were going to call again when we left so he hadn't started supper so after we unloaded Tiff and Conner's things we went on home.. We had thought about stopping for something to eat in town but neither one of us were really hungry as we ate a half of a sandwich on the way home.. Once we unloaded I got on the PC and Chet stretched out on the couch watching tv.. Nothing much is on but I think I'm just ready for Survivor to start again. lol.. I miss it. but tonight I will watch the Clint Eastwood movie. While surfing around and answering tags I found this cute adoption.. thought I would bring it into my nest.. grin..

It has been 4 hours ago since Chester fell asleep so I just snacked for supper and I will not bother him as I know he is needing his sleep.. My brother R.C. called since we got home which was a total surprise as we don't get to hear from him that often.. It was sweet of him to call about Chester and offer his and his wifes prayers and support to us..

10 am appointment with chemo doctor and one at 2:40 in radiation. UPDATE
Appointment with Mehrdad Jafari, MD, PhD was kept and now we are waiting again. Todays Radiation appointment was canceled due to the plan of Chemo treatment changes..
Now the plan is two sessions of high dosage of Chemo starting with one this coming Monday January 30th at 8am and the other session 3 weeks from the 30th...
But this all could change depending on the outcome of a CAT scan of the pancres that Chester has scheduled for Thursday January 26th for a pea size SOMETHING showing on a previous CAT scan taken of his chest area..

Note: Received phone calls from: Herb and Sherri, Chester's cousin Jerry, and received snail mail cards from Regina and family and Red Man Pipe and Supply Company.

This seems to have been a very stressful day. Chester's CAT scan was today.. On our way to Oklahoma City Chester received a call that a long time work friend, Jay Doyle had a massive heart attack, passing away at his home around 8am.. Needless to say he and I were shocked as you usually are at any unexpected death. We got to the physicans building around nine with the appointment for the CAT being at 9:30 to find out that someone had made a error and his appointment wasn't until 2pm.... WHAT... Thank goodness they worked him in with him finishing just before noon.
With this behind us we went to another hospital near by (St. Anthonys) to check on his Aunt Mable that had a pace maker put in last night.. we are happy to report that Mable is doing good.. after a short visit we went to Deconess hospital which is in the north part of Oklahoma City to see his Aunt Mazie that had been transfered there from ElReno hospital Tuesday morning. She has been sick on and off for awhile fighting against diabetes. Yesterday she had a stroke they believe and was put on life support.. She did not wish to be on it but had not made her wishes know in writing.. Around 2pm the doctors with the permission of the children released Mazie from the machines.. Within 2 hours she passed away ..

Love Lives On
Those we love are never really lost to us--
we feel them in so many special ways--
through friends they always cared about
and dreams they left behind,
in beauty that they added to our days...
in words of wisdom we still carry with us
and memories that never will be gone...
Those we love
are never really lost to us--
for everywhere their special love lives on.

Jay Doyle and Mazie will be greatly miss on this earth but the angels have already greeted them in heaven.. Mazie holds a special spot in my heart as her and her husband were the ones responsible for assisting Chester in purchasing my wedding ring..

When we left the hospital we decided to head on South instead of eating in the city.. We called Tiffani and set up for both girls and their men and Conner to meet us at the local mexican resturant for supper... Before we did that we did go with the Nunn's to look at a open house that a builder in Blanchard has to show his workmanship.. It was nice so I am sure they will be talking to him again when the time comes for them to really start the planning of building their home. Supper was good but the resturant was really busy .. and the company couldn't be beat.. Conner did really well the first half of the meal but once he is finished eating he doesn't understand that he can't get down and play. 14 months old and that is the way it is suppose to be for a active young man.. smile..
Once home Chester and I worked on some invoices that I needed him to go over and now I am passing time trying to stay awake until 10 so that I won't be up early in the moring... Conner will be here tomorrow and if all is well we will be going to Pa's place for the week-end... we will come in for the Mazie and Doyles funeral if they are held during that time.. if they are Monday it depends on what time of day they are held if we will get to go since Chester has his first Chemo session Monday morning..

I have found a couple of new adoption shoppes.. I had added their URL in my members area. There are so many beautiful things that I want to add in different areas of My okie nest I could stay on line just requesting things but Conner will be here in about 30 minutes so I need to get my shower and get ready to PLAY...
We are going to the lake house this week-end with Tiffani, Conner, Gizmo, Tracy, Destry and Josie girl joining us. Chester, Conner and I left before the others but they meet us at Ardmores wal-mart then we went to the conner Catfish cafe for supper.. It wasn't near as good as it has been in the past.. I think they were using old oil.. YUCK
By the time we got to the lake house it was after 8pm so unpacking and wiping down the house took most of the time prior to going to bed.. Conner and us girls (Myself, Tiffani and Tracy) did sit up and watch the ~ half light ~ movie since Chester and Destry didn't want to watch that type of movie. It was fairly good, the girls enjoyed it more than I did.. :O)smile.

Sabel his outside dog had to be put down this morning as she was not going to heal and was getting worse instead of better. She has been at the vet's most of the month on IV's
The kids left a few hours before we did but on our way home from the lake we picked up Chicken for supper and stopped at Maysville and Mailed back the movies .. Tiffani, Kevin and Conner were at the house when we got there so after we ate, Tiffani did the payroll taxes. Then we watched Cowboy U Oklahoma that is a series on CMT.. This was our first time to watch it and it was truely funny to watch those that have never been around ranch animals compete.

Funeral services were for Aunt Mazie and Jay Doyle this morning at 10am. Chester had his first session of Chemo today so there was no way we could attend either service. We meet Tracy at wal-mart parking lot at 6:30 leaving to go to the OU medical center.. arriving at 7:45.. The trip is awful this time of the morning with the heavy work traffic and all the construction going on on I-35. After getting Chester checked in they went over the drugs that he would be given today.
      Chemo drugs
    1. Cisplatin Taxotere
    2. Docetaxel
    3. Cisplatin
Chester did really good through his session which took from 8am till 1:30pm. When he was released we went to chili's to eat a late lunch and then we went to wal-mart to pick him up some more lounge pants to wear back and forth to the doctor appointments. Then we headed south and picked up his percriptions.
    • 1. Metoclopram 10mg } generic for Reglan : Take two tablets by mouth 4 times daily for 3 days after each chemo treatment.
    • Dexamethason 4mg } generic for Decadron : Take one tablet by mouth 2 times daily for 3 days after each chemo treatment.
Instead of taking Tracy home we meet Destry at Erin Springs since he was still around town. Then HOME... at 5:30..
Chester says that he feels find that things are moving like they are in slow motion but that is all the odd feeling he is having.
Tomorrow Chester has a Appointment at 9:30 with a General Surgery doctor ~ Russell G. Postier, M.D ~ in reference to his pancreas scan. We hope in the moring when we get there he at least will know we are scheduled and that he has looked at the CA scan ahead of time...

Destry came out this morning around 8 to bring me the paperwork and before he left Robert showed up to visit with Chester about a large bid job with Lance Ruffle. Shortly after they left Chester went to town to make the deposit, and check the company's mail.. Destry or Robert could have done this but he wanted to do something he said.
When he came home he brought us a Mickey D burger for lunch.. He ate all of his Yeepee and it didn't make him sick.
Not to much happened today.. I cooked a simple supper of hotbeef on toast, mashed potatoes and green beans.. Chester ate fairly well and is still keeping it down.. He spent most of his afternoon and evening sleeping. His energy level was really down today.

It has been a week since Chester had his first session of Chemo and I am so tickled at how well he is doing. Tracy came out for a little while this afternoon, we printed off 4 ~black and white 5x5 ~ of pictures that she had taken in December around their place to hang in their dinningroom.. I am sure it is going to be cute. She got to keep Conner until 3pm today since he was still sick he couldn't go to the babysitters and with Chester taking Chemo they advised him not to be around anyone known to be sick.. Tiffani took him to Norman to see his doctor at 4 and they gave him a breathing treatment and medicine for a ear infection. From Monday Madness:

Today Chester worked leaving around 9 and getting back home about 4.. He says he is feeling really good.. no fever or extreme tiredness.. I am so happy for him I just don't want him to overdo..
Conner went to the babysitter with Tiffani and Great Granpa Dean taking him to his doctor for a follow up on his cough... They gave him another breathing treatment and also sent treatment home for him to do every 4 hours as needed for cough.. plus prescriptions.

Chester went to work this morning to deliver payroll.. I am so thankful that his energy level is back up the way it is.. He has blood work done this morning our local hospital and they will fax the results to the Chemo department at the OU medical center.
I have alot of work to get done today so that means no playtime ... pooh.. but that is life..
I just check our blockbuster account to see if any movies were to be here today but it shows that only two were shipped out yesterday and not expected to be here until the 13th... I don't understand this considering I mailed them off Saturday evening.. Oh well we have plenty to do this week-end anyway. Those expected are: Mind Hunters and Hide & Seek [WS]
UPDATE: Things changed shortly after I posted.. Conner was still sick but not much worse.. He was suppose to go to the babysitter but her children were sick so he stayed with me until around 2pm then Tracy came after him until his Mom got off work. Conner is still doing breathing treatments every 6 hours.

When I got up this morning I started the chili and beans cooking. It was a good thing since I was planning on it for supper but instead it was served for lunch as we had company... Tiffani and her family, Tracy and Destry, Norma and Leo and David and Robin all joined us around noon for a visit and eating.. Norma brought a mexican cassole to have for lunch so it went perfect with what I had prepared.
Robin and David left shortly after we ate with Leo and Norma leaving around 4pm.. I couldn't figure out what the girls were planning they had the giggles all afternoon... Soon I found out...
Tracy and Destry are expecting their first child together...

Chester and I am so happy for them..
She just confirmed it yesterday with a home pregnacy test so her deliver will be either October or November..
When everyone left Chester curled up on the sofa and I played in my Paint shop program.. I am getting a little scratch in my throat and my ears are stopping up so I think I am coming down with something.

    Short and sweet..
I started having a sore throat around noon yesterday and then a fever on and off all night.. Seems every bone in my body hurts. I am just now getting some relief but I am headed back to bed. Tracy didn't have to work after all tonight so she went with her Dad to his 4pm doctor appointment so I wouldn't have to get out..
What a way to finish up a week-end and start a new week.. I will feel terrible if Chester cathes this from me..

    Happy Valentines Day..
I am still running a low grade fever on and off so it is going to be another in bed day for the most part.. I hope to get a little work done but unless I get to feeling better it will have to wait until tomorrow. Praying Chester doesn't get it.. His doctor put him on antibotics yesterday at his appointment because he had a low fever. Maybe it will help ward it off.

I am still sick but so far Chester is doing OK, the soreness in his has gotten better and no fever.
I went to bed shortly after he got home from work so that I wouldn't be coughing on him.. but around 7 Conner and Tiffani came over for a visit .. Tiff wanted Chester to see Conner in case he has his shots tomorrow.. They played for about a hour then they went home to get ready for their bedtime.
I couldn't sleep so I set the bird tweet set of Tea's here in my nest that she made in 2004. I love this set and I don't seem to get to use it that much.

I am still feeling bad.. I have sucked on so many halls and assorted mints that I have no taste buds left in my mouth that are working.
Chester's brother Jim came by this morning after Conner and Tiffani left for a short visit. He didn't know Chester was working some when he came but maybe he will catch up next time he is around.

Tracy got me an appointment at the Main Street clinic at Maysville this morning at 9am.. The PA said it sounds like I am on the verge of pneumonia so she is faxing me in a prescription for a z-pack to help me start mending. I sure hope it works.. I am tired of being sick.
Chester is sharing a 2pm hair appointment with Tracy. She had the appointment Kourtney is going to work him in as she does Tracy.. Chet noticed Wednesday that he was loosing his hair but this morning he had to clear the shower drain so he is either going to have it cut really short or have it shaved. He was sure hoping he wouldn't loose it but he is handeling it OK.

We aren't doing much today.. I did talk to Sandi from the PR this afternoon on the phone.. She has such a sweet voice, as sweet as she is.. She sent sent Chester and I a care package full of goodies.. Thank you Sandi we love each piece you chose to put into it.
April 3 I will have My Okie Nest open for 5 years and it is time to do some major house cleaning.. I just know I am going to have missing links everywhere for awhile but it must be done.. I am trying to delete some of the extra things in my Okie Nest that I am having trouble keeping on top of.. ~ one thing for sure that I am not pleased with is the Flapper site so I am deleting it the best I can.. Finally i got all the groups that I had joined deleted and hit the Deactivate Account.. So that is one less place for me to keep up with.. *S* Now I am trying to Clean up my Fotopage ACCOUNT
It has been a good kick back and relax day.

Chesters 2nd round of Chemo. He began at 8:30 and finished at 2:30. Just sitting makes it seem like very long day.
the babysitters little boy got sick at school so Tiffani picked up Conner and took him to Tracy for her to keep for the day.. He isn't throwing up but the other end is loose loose loose.. I am beginning to wonder if the winter bugs are just getting here.

Conner woke in the middle of the night throwing up.. they think it is the medicine he is on but since the babysitters little boy was sick yesterday it is possible he has a stomach virus... Of couse he couldn't go to the babysitters, and Kevin's step Mom had plans so he came over her for the day..

Conner and Tiffani are feeling much better but now Tracy is sick. I will be glad when this string of flu leaves us.
Nothing has been going on except trying to stay well and babysitting Conner.. I am so ready for the week-end.
Chester is feeling good.. not as well as he wishes but I hope by Monday he will have more of his strength back.

I had received a email from my cousin Jean February 24th but I just read it this morning as I don't check that email addy every day. This is some that she wrote...Tom has cholangiocarcinoma...a very rare bile duct cancer if you google cholangiocarcinoma..it will tell you all about it...He was stage IV when we found out what he had..he's not doing to well. When we found out Tom had this he didn't want anyone to know, that's why I didn't call or tell you all..He just knew he could whip it and not bother everyone..He thought you all did so much for Berniece, . The Dr.s gave him 2 to 6 months in Sept of 04, boy did he fool them..I hate to tell you but I don't think we have much longer..he's weighs under 200lbs..he's so very week, we have to help him up and down..that has just started this week..the pain pills he's on make him real goofy..He wanted to call hospice, so they came out this week.. Gayla I just don't know what else to say..He has fought so hard and he's so very proud..but I think the time is getting close..He told me the other day how lucky Bill was, not to have suffered, he wished he could have gone like him.
You tell Chester to hang in there..but if he has any doubts about his care you need to come down to MD. Anderson...They are soooo very great..We have heard from other cancer people that their drs.s didn't give them much hope..only to come to MD Anderson and get cured..you guys could stay here I know how to get there where everything is..I would be no problem..Our prayers are with you guys...I will try and keep you advised...take care

Work was the name of the game today.. Conner went back to the babysitter.. Chester was feeling good enough to run some errans for the company and visit with some company men .. He came back mid morning and we made some follow up calls to the doctors.. He had a appointment in the radiation department tomorrow but after some calls it was moved to Friday and then he will begin Radiation Monday March 6th. The best we know he will have it 5 days a week, Mon-Fri for 6 to 8 weeks. With some Chemo once a week in there somewhere.. After we got off the phone with the nurse we both just broke down crying.. It is a scarey time that we hadn't really faced head on until today.. It is like it took the air our of our lungs.. Of couse we know with the Grace of God all will be fine and that is our prayer... After our cry we pulled ourselves up by the boot strap and he went back to town to have lunch and I went back to work.
Tracy is feeling somewhat better.. I am afraid it is going to be a long 9 months for her.. She has a doctors appointment tomorrow and I get to go.. This is such a exciting time for my baby girl.
After supper Chet and I was watching a movie and we had surprise visitors.. Todd Hatfield, (and two of My nephews)Donnie and David. They came out to check on Chester.. It really made his night even though he had said prior to them getting here he didn't think he would be able to stay up to watch the movie.
The Nunns went to look at brick again tonight after they got off work. Tiffani called and I think they are going to come over tomorrow after work for supper.. I am going to fix a simple roast, potaotes and carrots with rolls and salad.. It is Chester's 55th birthday.. and he would rather eat in with the girls and their family than meet in town on a week night. I must admit All and all this has been a Good day.

I went to the doctors appointment with Tracy this morning.. of course she only got to visit with the nurse but all seems to be ok... They want to her to see the doctor in two weeks to talk about her blood pressure and high heart rate and about the history of Destry's and his family in the hearing area. It will still be to early to hear a heart beat I believe but these are concerns for Tracy so they need to be discussed.
After this mornings appointment we went to Chili's for lunch then back we headed back South so Tracy and I could get back to work.. I set the below at the watering hole and Family connections at myfamily.com to announce the expected birth of my newest grandchild to Chester and my families
    Grandchildren
    are precious gifts
    given to parents
    from their children.

    Dear Papa and Gma

I do not have a face to see,
    Or put inside a frame.
I do not have soft cheeks to kiss.
    I don't yet have a name.

Not yet can you hold my tiny hands,
    Nor whisper in my ear.
It's still too soon to sing a song,
    Or cuddle me so near.

    But all that will change come this October;
When they say I am due.
    I am your newest grandchild;
And I can't wait until I meet you!

All I ask between now and then
Is your love for me to grow.
    I promise I'll be worth the wait;
Just think of all the joy we'll know!

    So as you're waiting patiently,
Please pray lots of prayers for me.
I cannot wait to be a part
    Of this wonderful family
Author unknow to me.. Title added by me.

    If it's a boy or if it's a girl
    I simply can't say,
as Destry and Tracy want it that way.

    Tracy's Expected delivery : October 16, 2006

    Congratulations Nunley family.

May the Lord give His angels
    charge over you,
to guide you in all your ways.

Tracy take care of yourself ..
    I Love you
    Mom

Tonight is the first night of

Chester and I are excited that the girls and their families (Expect Dalton and Brooklynn they are with their Mom's) are coming over for his 55th birthday but he really wants to watch the amazing race.. We will see how it works out.
    UPDATE:
We had a wonderful dinner.. Helping Chester celebrate his 55th birthday was ... His Dad, Tiffani, Kevin, Conner and Gizmo.. Tracy and Destry and little unknown Nunley.. and myself.
It was nice to have the kitchen filled with laughter and of course good food...
He had a good evening and he loved his Dora the Explorer Cake that Conner picked out for him and they also gave him a large chocolate chip cookie that he didn't offer to let anyone take home the left overs of.. *S*

I switched out the graphics in here late last night.. This set from Tea's 2005 St Patty Collection and I am honored to get to display it.
It felt like it was almost summer today but I was stuck inside working on invoices so I didn't get to enjoy it... we even turned the air conditioner on around 5pm Chester said we are modern.. lol.. so on it went.. We did turn it off when the sun went down as it was cool enough then.. Probably will have the heater on tomorrow.

Another beautiful day. The weather isn't hot nor cold.. Just right .. Just like the porridge in the Three bears story. Chester was feeling good again today so he went on his way doing whatever it is that he does out in the oil field.. I did some light housework, laundry and of course I put in a few early hours working doing the companies things.. Mostly matching work-tickets to invoices which takes a lot longer than I wish but so far I have no short cuts to this part of my job.. one of those things I always dread doing but it has to be done to stay on top of the accounts receivable.

    Friday March 03, 2006
This morning I worked entering accounts payable shutting down around 9am to get ready to go to Chester 2pm appointment to have a CAT scan and re mapping for the radiation that will start Monday . We left early as we had (Cancer) insurance papers to take by the doctors office in Norman of the first doctor that Chester saw back in December when he was diagnosed.. The doctor nor his nurse was in so we left the paperwork and I hope to pick it up to mail off sometime next week.. On the way to the city I stayed on the phone trying to get itemized statements from the places that have seen and tended to Chester up to the last of February.. I HATE INSURANCE.. you pay out the butt for it and when it comes time to make claims you have to gather all these things and send them in only for them to tell you they need more. This is a cancer policy that Chester and I both have had for some time now.. We also have the heart attack policy and I went through all this paperwork when he had his heart attack so I just know they will be dragging their feet as I had to fight them all the way to get anything on the heart attack..Oh well I guess if we get anything it is will help with the mounting bills that are flowing in.
Hello Jean... Thanks so much for tagging me.. I have you and Tom in my prayers.. I did a google search on cholangiocarcinoma...which it did show that it is a very rare bile duct cancer. I can't even begin to imagine what Tom has been going through. I have made me a note to look for the book you referred to me "Joel Olsteens book Best Life Ever.." Thanks I will be picking it up as soon as I get out of this one horse town ... You know what I mean.. Our Expess Wal-mart won't have it.. giggle
Ok back to Chesters appointment.. It took about a hour to do the CAT scan and re mapping of the mask that he will wear during radiation.. His only complaint is that he has a slightly stuffy nose and sore throat (Not from the tumor but possibly catching a cold~ we are keeping a watch on his fever)when they put the mask on him and bolted him to the table it was so tight he couldn't breath.. He got their attention and they made some adjustment so it wasn't so unbearable but not something he is looking forward to 5 days a week for the next 6 to 8 weeks.. Appointment to begin radiation is now set for Monday at 9:30am.
On the way home we stopped at Texas roadhouse for a early supper then on home.. Tiffani brought Conner over for us to watch so they could get some packing done this evening but Conner had other plans.. He threw a fit TEARS and all as soon as she said well I better get going... Needless to say I rode home with them with Papa driving our pick-up over with hopes that he would come home with us after he had a little mommy time.. We stayed until around 7:30 and he was ready to go... he climbed in the pick-up and walked up to our house like a big boy.. After a dish of left over birthday cake and chocolate ice cream he curled up in my lap for me to read to him and was asleep before 9... The kids will be jealous that he went to bed so easily LOL... They have errans to run tomorrow and I am sure more packing to do but I think they will be over to pick Conner up before supper tomorrow...
NOTE: When we got home from Tiffani's the Chemotherapy department had called leaving a message on the answering machine saying that Chester has an appointment there Monday.. but they didn't give a time.. This really upset Chester that they do things like this and there is no way of getting ahold of them even though they call after office hours they don't receive calls.. There is nothing we can do about it but show up Monday morning and see what is going on.. I know he isn't ready to have another chemo treatment as he was thinking it would be Monday the 13th at the earliest that he would have another one but I assume that is what we get for THINKING.
Please continue your prayers for Chester he is really dreading this next step to his recovery. Thank you.

    Monday March 06, 2006
We left home at 6:30 hitting grid lock traffic on I-35 which threw us behind a little but not bad.. At 8:15 Chester was in the chair and ready to start Chemotherapy. With the IV in and blood drawn Chester kicks back for the 5 hours session while I call the radiation department to inform them that he won't be there until he is finished with the chemo session.. Which they assured me that was just fine.. When I got back to Chester they came back with his blood work results and said they couldn't proceed because his white blood count was off.. He is making plenty of white blood cells but they aren't the good white blood cells.. So they paged the doctor.. I thought Chet was going to crash right then and there... They were told by the doctor to reschedule him for Friday... but thankfully before the nurse got the IV shut down and removed the doctor call back and changed his orders... They told Chester to be real realy careful of any fever.. and they proceeded giving him his treatment.. Finishing that at 2pm we checked into the radioation department. That took a little over a hour... Need less to say we were both worn out and Starving.. We stopped for a bite to eat at ElChico's in Norman, then we to pick up Conner at the babysitters as his parents haa a chamber of commerce meeting this evening ..
The weather was perfect today.. It got up to 80 I think.. the wind was light which made it seem ever warmer.. I sure wanted to stop by the nursery on the way home but Chester didn't feel like walking around and he knew he really didn't want flowers coming home with us.. plus we had to get South so we could pick up Conner at 5pm.. *S*
When we got Conner to the house he was so excited to get to play outside.. So that is what we did.. Chester sat in the swing on the front porch and Conner was everywhere playing.. He sure does like the outdoors.
Chester had another special visitor tonight including Conner it was Ron Williams.. He stopped by to visit and to see how Chester was doing.. It really made his evening. Also Torie (my niece and a long time friend Becky Morphew called to check on Chester.. It just touches my heart that so many are remembering Chester in their prayers and they some do take the time to send cards, make phone calls and stop in for special visits.

To the radiation department we went again today it takes us longer to make the drive one way then it does to do the treatment. .. Chester is feeling so good what a blessing. When we got back in our neck of the woods he took me to the beauty shop so I could get a hair cut.. I like it somewhat better this time but I know before summer I will be getting it cut the rest of the way off.. After my hair appointment we meet Tracy, Destry and Tiffani at Jean Dinner for lunch which was not good at all.. Yuk.. I order pork roast and it was pull apart pork with brown gravy on it.. Not flavorable at all. After lunch it is home for a little while then I rode to Conner's doctor appointment at Norman.. Long long day.
My 1st Cousin (on my Dad's side of the family) Tom passed away this morning from cholangiocarcinoma...a very rare bile duct cancer. The Dr.s gave him 2 to 6 months in Sept of 04, he faught a very hard battle. Tom's Services will be Saturday at 2pm

I received my CWJ ride.. For those that are joining in on the rides you can get mine by clicking on mine here.. and it will take you when I have it tucked into My Okie Nest.

It was a hard end of week and week-end for Chester.. He is getting weaker by the day and is having to force his self to eat and drink.. Tomorrow he has chemo and radiation.. I hope his white count is still OK.

    Thursday March 16, 2006
Conner did really good today.. He fell asleep before we got to Norman and slept the rest of the way to OK City.. Then two nurses made a big fuss over him with tootsie roll pops so he was set for the ride back home.. Taking a nap (with me curled up with him) from 2:30 to 5pm... Chester is really tiring from the treatments and driving back and forth to OK City.. he will not let me drive.. maybe before long he will give in to letting me.
Nothing else going on just keeping my head above water with the company books and housework..

Chester and I meet the girls and their families at the Ranch house for breakfast.. Chester ate really well even though you could tell swallowing is very painful. Tracy is keeping Conner while Tiffani and Kevin continue packing... Chester and I came home so he could get some rest.. His strength has really went down hill since last week-end.

    Saturday March 25, 2006
The week was not a week of anything happening.. Every morning I took Chester to Radiation then back home.. He would sleep on and off the rest of the day.. I worked in afternoons but for some reason I still have a stack of paperwork to attend to Tuesday... Monday it is a full day at Chemo so I usually don't have the energy to do bookwork on that day..

Egg throwing... How I remember as a teenager doing this for real.. LOL
Tiffani and Kevin finished moving and stayed their first night at Tracy and Destry's. Tea made this little cutie so that I could play... but you can link it to me..

Kevin rented a dozer and is do dirt work on their land today to get it ready for the building of their house to begin.. I wish I could go over but Chester was sick most of the night so I will stick around here with him. He did get one-8ounce can of ensure down around 10 with part of his meds.. About a hour ago it all came back up ... he is so sick and there is nothing I can do to help him but to be here..
While he is resting I am trying to do a little laundry and housework but the slighest noise seem s to disturb him so here I sit at the PC trying to be quite..
I did get some of the eggs hits added to my Egg toss in the activities part of My Okie Nest.. I haven't had time to visit throwers sites so the only ones I have are the ones that have emailed me theirs.. So if you are a thrower would you please email me yours so I can tuck it into my nest.. *S*.. Well the buzzer just sounded on the dryer I got to get up and get after it while I can..
Thanks everyone for your faithful visit and Prayers.. I will be by to tag you asap..

Things are about the same around here. Going to the city daily is really tiring Chester and I out but we are handeling it.. I wish I could be there to watch him hunt but maybe next year..

Sometime when we hear the news we are disgusted at what is going on in this world.. maybe even asking for comfort for those that we see affected..
I live in a small town and there are many small towns in the area.. I don't know this family personally but they are going through more than I would even want to think about going through.. Purcell is about 30 miles from where I live and is where 3 of my nieces live with their families..
what happened to this little girl is effecting the whole town and state .. Please remember Jamie Rose Bolin family of PURCELL, Okla. in your prayers.

Chet isn't feeling much better today.. Our Easter guest were:
  • Tiffani, Kevin, Conner and Gizmo (#1 Grandpup)
  • Tracy, Destry, Dalton, Brooklynn and Josie (#2 Grandpup)
  • Chester's Dad
  • One of my Sisters, Carol.

The girls brought over dinner which was great.. they hid the eggs and the three kids hunted them one time.. Conner was so much fun to watch hunt.. I can't believe I didn't take one picture of them but I was filming with the movie camera and didn't even think to take a snap or two.. So much for giving the girls both new cameras for Christmas.. *S*

Chester has had a fairly good day today (except when they again scraped the dead skin from his neck at radiation ) until around 5:30 and he started throwing up again... he is resting now and I hope he rest all night.
I admit it is a lot harder road than we imagined.. I am tired mentally and physically.. to see him hurt like this is unexplainable.. I thought going through the sickness of my Mom was heart wrenching but this is a whole different story and I hope he never has to go though it with me.. or us with our girls or grandchildren..

On the way home from CHesters radiation I stopped at Purcell and purchased some goldfish.. then swung into the insurance office and paid for our Surb insurance.. 410.00 ever six months.. Whew you would think it would go down someday. Filled up the Surb at Gas n Go at 2.60 per gallon.. Pocketbook empty so I took Chester on home which he was glad.. The ride is tiring to him even though he lays down on the way and back.

Tiffani and Conner came out to visit tonight.. Then David and Robin came out delivering and planting lilac bushes and two crape martles from off shoots from their bushes. .. When they got them planted they went home and Tiffani, Conner and I had left over roast and potatoes. It was a great visit it was like Conner knew that Papa wasn't feeling well so he intertained us.

Chester had radiation and a appointment with the chemo doctor.. Due to how sick Chester has been they are not going to do anymore Chemo for now.
Conner had his 15 and 18 month shots today so it will be a week from today before he can be around Chester since the shots are live virues and Chester could catch them easily. I had hoped since he didn't have Chemo this week that his stomach would settle down but he is still throwing his guts up.. I know he will be soooo happy when that stops.

The treatments are supose to end Thursday or maybe even Friday.... Oh well it will be done when it is done...
He is sceduled to have his stomach scoped to make sure the tube is still in place Tomorrow at 7:30 he will be back at the place where he got his stomach tube put in.. They are thinking that is why he is still so sick... They will be putting him out kind of to go down into his stomach to check it out.. The man weighs 136 pounds... Starting out at 178 I think it was. He lost 10 this last week.. and I gained 20.. *S*
No yogart yet Sandi... I think he will have to learn to swallow all over again but we will cross that bridge when we get there.

Yeepie we are back home... with a follow up appointment to be made by phone tomorrow for Thurdsday. Treatment from now to then beginning tomorrow is antibiotics and packing which will be done by Tracy if possible but if not we will have to set up home health care to assist us in this..

Today was the first time since Conner got his 15 and 18 month shots that Conner could be around Chester. Tiffani brought supper out and Chester played with Conner just a little bit but he started throwing up and he was so worn out with the trip to the city he layed down while he was here.. maybe next visit PaPa will feel better... *(CONNER NOW SAYS PAPA)*

I went to Kassi's wedding shower with Tiffani, Conner and Tracy. Afterwards they plus Destry went to the lake house to start getting it ready for the summer.. Carol came over after the shower.. I was so tired I took a nap with Chester. and she just hung out watching tv.. later she went into town and picked us up some supper and we watched more tv and although I had gotten her our nightware and bedding she decided to go on home after the evening movie went off.

    Sunday May 07, 2006
Judy and Kennenth came by for a short visit.. Tiffani, Conner, Destry and Tracy stopped in on their way home from the lake house so Tracy could nurse Chester.. They got the lake house all cleaned up so that when Chester is ready we can go down.

Tracy meet us for lunch at Jean's dinner as we were in town for a insurance meeting at Sommers with Destry and Robert..

    Tuesday May 09, 2006
C.C.& R. purchased a new 2006 one ton today trading in two of the older vichels that they started the business with.
After work hours Kevin went to Pro bass shop to exchange the fish finder him and Destry had picked up Saturday that had been once returned to the store and put back on the shelf to resale with a pink slip inside on the finder stating that it was defective.
Tracy, Brooklynn, Destry, Tiffani and Conner came out to the house and WORKED their hearts out. Destry mowed the yard, and pumped out the gold fish pond and refilled with clean water, and the girls worked on our health insurance... and believe me with the cancer it has been very confusing to me so they have taken over for Chester and I which I am trilled they are.
Tracy stopped doing the packing on Chester tonight as the opening is almost closed up. Now on to twice a day sit baths for two weeks for him.
Chester is slowly but surely getting his strength back.. he actually drove today

    Wednesday May 10, 2006
We meet Tiffani for lunch since we need to take the payroll taxes and also go to the accountants on a letter we got from the IRS refering back to 2004... Lunch was good, Tiffani had contacted some of the medical places that are starting to hound us for payment that haven't even sent the information to our insurance company..which they had the information but it is the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing.. *S*.. Now we hope they all will be getting all of Chesters medical bills filed and we will figure out how we will begin paying our % of what we owe which is a outstanding amount and the bills are still coming in. We pay over $1550.00 per month for him and I to have decent health insurance and it really is upsetting that the billing office don't do their job of billing the insurance company the way they should.. instead they start in on us when we have tried more than once to confirm the billing address and other insurance information. After lunch while we were in PV we went to Wal-mart to pick up the paper goods and Chester went ahead and purchased a weed-eater that I can run as it will be awhile before he will be strong enough and the mowing was done by Destry but they can't do it all summer for us as they have a large yard theirselves.
This evening Chester and I meet Tiffani, Kevin, Conner, Tracy and a couple of Kevin's co-workers at the their land to see that the foundation has been marked and should be poured by Monday.. It is going to be a slow process but we do hope they get the house built before September so Tracy can get her house back in order to prepare for the little one that is due October 16th..which they still are standing firm about not finding out if it is a boy or a girl with the ultra sound...
I picked up my bike today.. I am ashamed that I start things then get so behind on them.

Conner is just talking in his own special language.. some things we can figure out what he is wanting but mostly not.. He is so sweet and he loves to come get you by the finger and pull you to where he wants to go.. If you don't he will let you know he isn't happy... *S*

    Chesters 2 week check-up

    X---XX---X---XX---X

    Tuesday May 16, 2006
Chesters check-up Monday showed that he has no infections but nothing else.. They did try to see by taking a camera (going through his nose into his throat) and looking to where the tumor was but they couldn't or wouldn't give us a yes it's gone or no it isn't... due to the damage the radiation has done to everything else in there.. Why they wanted to do this at 2 weeks is beyond me.. but Chester goes back in a month for a CAT scan and another camera down to look around and at that time he hopes that they will be able to tell him more..

A co administrator at the playroom's husband ~ Wes ~ has been diagnosed with ALS, Lou Gehrig's Disease. I can not imagine the pain this diagnosis had brought to them. My prayer are with them as they assorb this terrible deiese that has come into their lives.. I know this will not be easy for either of them or their family. I wish I had wise and comforting words to say to them but all I have is a big Oklahoma Hug sent their way and many many thoughts and prayers
We left the lake around 2 but we stopped in Ardmore to eat and then we stuck around to watch Conner while Tiffani and Tracy got their grocreys.. Once we stopped at their house to drop off the sand Tiffani had purchased for Conners basketball goal we went on home.. After we got the watering done it was almost bed time.. *S*

Chester went to Cox City to visit with the Marathon supervisior today.. I worked as best I could but seems like I had so many interuptions with the phone that I didn't accomplish all that I had hoped to. It has been another georgeous day here, except for our Oklahoma wind.. Chester and Destry did get to go fishing at Brown's pond while the girls and Conner stayed here with me to visit.. Conner got to play in the water with they watering hose for a little while.. That child loves doing anything that is outside.
Around 7 we meet Chet, Destry and Kevin at Jean's diner for supper.. I didn't have a thing available to feed them here so we had little choice but to go out to eat.. Bummer.. LOL

BOOKWORK... YUCK.. that is all I did all day.. Chester piddled out in the old garage but didn't go into work today.. His voice was really raspie today for some reason but he said it didn't hurt.
Chester and I went out for supper at the Mexican food cafe in town. We saw a few people that we hadn;t seen since he had been sick.. one little girl asked her Grandma Vickie Kay if he was the mean man.. She was only 3 but I could tell it took Chester back a notch as he has always had a real easy time with children. After supper we went by The Nunn place and the boards were down from the foundation and then home to water the plants and some R&R watching tv before bedtime.

When we got up this morning Conner was running a low temp but shortly after Tiffani gave him some tylenoyl it went down so we loaded up and went to town.. We went garage sales but we didn't really find anything. Tracy a barnwood shelf and Conner a little pink car and a ball with goal to play with at Pa's Place.

    X---XX---X---XX---X

    Sunday June 04, 2006
Tiffani, Conner and Tracy stayed at Pa's Place until around 2pm then they went toward home. With Conner running fever on and off this week-end we decided it was best if he didn't get in the water.. So we never got the boat out of the barn. Leo and Norma stayed until around 7pm. We did go up to Mom and Pop's store/cafe and ate supper so I wouldn't have to cook.
The rest of the evening was spent relaxing with me dragging out the scrap booking supplies and getting ready to start doing again.

About 7pm I took a break from the books and mowed the yard.. I didn't do next to the road as I almost didn't get finished before dark. After a shower a just couldn't get back into work so I gave up and went to bed getting up early this morning and hitting it again. I didn't think I will finish in time to go down to Pa's Place today but I finally finished up at 5 and pulled out.. stopping at KFC for chicken for our supper it was so good to be back with Chester..You would think that as long as we have been married that one night apart wouldn't make me feel so lonely but I missed him something awful.. grin

Chester, Destry and Dalton went golfing this morning.. Tiffani, Conner, Tracy, Brooklynn, and I just hung out and relaxed.. When the guys got back and Kevin made it down we all went out in the boats for awhile so Dalton and Brooklynn could ski. Conners ear started draining again so Tiffani and Kevin took him back to the house while we continued letting the kids tube.. While we were doing that Tiff and Kevin prepared supper.. Yummie and I hope the kids realize how nice it was to come back from the water and have preparations done..

Chester, Kevin and Destry pulled out from the lake house around 5 this morning going stripper fishing at lake Texhoma with a fishing guide.. Chester caught the biggest.. LOL.. a gar in the tail in and Kevin caught the most exciting "a bird"..They had a great time getting back to the lake house around 2:30
While they were gone the girls, Conner and Dalton and I went to the lodge to pay put putt golf then stopping for snow cones and a swim at the Ski jump area of the lake.. We had a nice time but hungry won out so we went back to the lake house.. Dalton is at a age that he is in limbo.. to old to want to run with us girls and to young to get to run with the men.. Oh well he will survive as all 12 year old children do.. We made it home from the lake at 9:30pm stopping on the way home for a hamburger so that we didn't have to cook when we got home.

    Monday June 12, 2006
Chester had his Cat scan today and Dr appointments with Tracy going with us. Nothing was a for sure and we are a little confused on why the doctors aren't getting together on his recovery.. the throat doctor Kremble ran the scope through Chester's nose down his throat recording it for use of research and to compare at later time but the swelling was still so bad that a clear look was not possible. The doctor wants the next step to be for Chester to see a lung doctor (Due to some fluid was again on his top right lung) the get the go ahead on whether he believes it is OK for Chester to be put to sleep again so that Dr Kremble can look behind the swollen vocal cords to see if the tumor is there or not. Ok so we left not knowing when this appointment will be and feeling very let down as we had hoped that a yes or no would be given today if this tumor was gone.. after having a bite to eat and wandering around Bass pro we went back to the Dr offices for his appointment with his Chemotherapy doctor, Jafari.. there we found that Chester has gained back 3 of his pounds, and that a SCAT scan will be scheduled at or after the 1st of next month to get a reading on where Chester stands on if any cancer has become active any place else and if they got the Cancer in the vocal cords with a follow up appointment with Jafari for the reading of this test scheduled for June 17th... We are feeling confused..because one doctor beleives in the PET scan and the other would rather see a visual and or CAT SCAN.. both we trust but we wish they were on the same page with their expectations of what should or should not be at this time frame.
When we got back in our home area we took Tracy to her car then came home and laided down.. The mental stress of this is so heavy and with the issue of Robert wanting to pull out of the company business isn't helping any.

    Happy Fathers day
We hung out and played with Conner until around 3 when Tiffani, and Kevin came after him to take him home.. Tracy and Destry came over for a visit and was here when they got here.. Kevin was tired which brought on a fuss as he has a habit of showing his temper when wants a nap.. I hate say it but I was glad that they only stayed a little while as I wasn't up to ignoring his mood. Chester went into town and picked us up a hamburger at sonic for supper other than that we didn't do anything. Getting to keep Conner over the week-end was a blast... we played and played and played some more..... and tonight it is tooooo quite around here.. grin.
